Friday 5

1.
Snaps for me because I put up (what I think to be quality) content everyday this week! I've felt very inspired and have some really awesome posts (imho) coming up!

2.
Can y'all believe that {American} Thanksgiving is next week?! I'm so excited to be attending a Hockey game against my high school's rival benefitting the food pantry as well as driving down to Kentucky late Wednesday night. (See also: Black Friday)

3.
I'm so excited to buy my family's Christmas gifts this year! I have some really cute ones picked out for them and I can't wait to see their faces on Christmas morning as they open them. I feel like Santa Claus! Keep your eyes peeled for more Gift Guides going up in the next few weeks!

4.
It's been quite chilly (like 4˚F) recently in Chicago, so my intake of Hot Cocoa has greatly increased. I'm now on a 2 cup a day regimen. #DrinkingPureSugar. I've also been using an excessive amount of hand cream recently! These two are my favorites:
5.
I'm going to see Mocking Jay pt.1 with Annie tomorrow night, and I've got to say, based on the trailers I've seen, I have very low expectations. The acting looks almost cheesy in a bad way, so I'll let you know my thoughts next week!

*********

Last year, I had done some Friday 5's in which I included a favorite blogger each week. (1-2) This week, we bring it back.
This weeks feature is Dorothy at Prep in Your Step!
I love her original posts! I look forward to reading it every morning. I also love that she's a college student and includes posts about school and organization!

Hope you enjoyed!
Have a great weekend, talk to y'all Monday!

Winter Boots

So. Now it's Thursday, and it's snowed at least two times this week. It's also only November. To add to the mix, the highest temperature we've had so far this week was around 32˚. But enough complaining. That's northing some hats and gloves and a mug of hot chocolate can't fix!

Another essential: Heavy Duty winter boots. Here in Chicago, you WILL NOT survive winter without some type of winter boots. I repeat- will. not. Your toes just may fall off. It a very lucking thing that there are so many cute types of winter boots to choose from this time of year. I opt for the felt LL Bean boots that were limited edition last year (sorry!)

Whether you're in the market to keep warm or just keep the snow out of your socks, you're sure to find a cute pair of boots for this winter. In this post, I've featured boots from LL Bean, Sorel, and Hunter, but there are plenty of other brands out there to choose from.

LL Bean: Lace up - Buckle
Sorel: Tall - Short
Hunter: Tall

And of course, you can never go wrong with a pair of classic Uggs!

Hats, Gloves, & Mittens. Oh My!

This past weekend, we had another round of snow flurries dusting our streets and trees, and don't get me wrong, I love winter and snow and just about everything that comes along with it, one thing I don't love: freezing cold temps as I walk into school in the morning (7am everyday!).

One of my biggest pet peeves? Touching my freezing cold steering wheel when I get in the car every morning. I feel like I need a Lilly Pulitzer steering wheel cover to help me out.
Or, I could just put on a nice pair of cozy gloves or mittens, and of course a color coordinated hat to keep me warm while I'm jamming to my Christmas music on my morning commute.

You tell me: What's your favorite combo?

{Holiday Gift Guide} Secret Santa

Hey everyone. The Holiday Season is approaching much to my complete disbelief. I thought I'd start out the gift guide season with Secret Santa gifts. I know for me, we draw for Secret Santa in November in order to swap before winter break, so this seems like as good a time as any to start Gift Guides this year!

Secret Santa can be hard to shop for, but this guide ranges from $15- $40 so hopefully you'll find something!
I always have the hardest time trying to find a truly great Secret Santa gift, So I wish you the best of luck!

Shades of Blue

Yes. That is snow on the ground. I know. I can't believe it either. I love that it's already snowed a couple of times this year! It just adds to my excitement for the holiday season.

At my high school, we have a handful of late arrivals through out the school year. Aka, the best days ever. When I don't have to be at school until 10am, I usually put a little more effort into my appearance, although sometimes I roll out of bed at 9:30 and show up in workout gear.

This outfit came from one of those days, and I kind of love it.
